The Righteousness of God’s Judgment

The righteous judgment of God that is coming upon nations world wide is well deserved. He is just in all His ways. There is no flaw, no evil, nothing unclean in Him. The people have sinned and will reap the consequences. However, those that have remained faithful to Him will be blessed.

Isaiah 65:1-16

God’s Response to Rebellion

I was sought by those who did not ask for Me. Found by those who did not seek Me. I said, here I am, here I am, to a nation that was not called by My name. I have stretched out My hands all day long to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, according to their own thoughts. A people who provoke Me to anger continually to My face; who sacrifice in gardens, and burn incense on alters of brick. Who sit among the graves, and spend the night in the tombs. They eat swine’s flesh, and the broth of abominable things is in their vessels. Who say, ‘Keep to yourself, do not come near me, for I am holier than you!’ These are smoke in My nostrils, a fire that burns all day.

Behold it is written before Me: I will not keep silence but will repay – even repay into their bosom – your iniquities of your fathers together, says the Lord, who have burned incense on the mountains and blasphemed Me on the hills. Therefore I will measure their former work into their bosom.

God’s Promise to the Faithful

Thus says the Lord: As the new wine is found in the cluster, and one says, ‘Do not destroy it, for a blessing is in it,’ so will I do for My servants’ sake, that I may not destroy them all. I will bring forth descendants form Jacob, and from Judah an heir of My mountains. My elect shall inherit it, and My servants shall dwell there. Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the Valley of Achor a place for herds to lie down, for My people who have sought Me.

But you are those who forsake the Lord, who forget My holy mountain, who prepare a table for Gad, and who furnish a drink offering for Meni. Therefore I will number you for the sword, and you shall all bow down to the slaughter; because when I called, you did not answer; when I spoke you did not hear, but did evil before My eyes, and chose that in which I do not delight.

Therefore thus says the Lord God: Behold, My servants shall eat, but you shall be hungry. Behold, My servants shall drink, but you shall be thirsty. Behold, My servants shall rejoice, but you shall be ashamed. Behold, My servants shall sing for joy of heart, but you shall cry for sorrow of heart and wait for grief of spirit. You shall leave your name as a curse to My chosen; for the Lord God will slay you, and call His servants by another name; so that he who blesses himself in the earth shall bless himself in the god of truth; and he who swears in the earth shall swear by the God of truth; because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hidden from My eyes.”

The Heart of God

Let me share with you the heart of God. This reveals why His judgment is righteous.

  • The Lord is saying that He stood ready to help His people – revealing Himself to them even though they weren’t seeking. He was ready to answer even though they weren’t asking questions or praying. He stood with His hands out and arms open for them and instead they turned away from Him.
  • These rebellious nations are so caught up and comfortable in their ways – they don’t recognize their wrong. The Lord is coming to expose them so that they may turn back towards Him and repent. Leaving behind their old ways and idols and once again choosing Him.
  • The Lord loves and cares about us so deeply. He is all knowing, all seeing, all power, and ever present. He takes care of us better than we can do ourselves or anyone else. It’s important that we acknowledge Him for the things He does as well as obey what He says. In the end it all is for the good of us and others. As well as Him receiving the glory, honor, and reverence that is rightfully His.
  • The Lord is slow to anger but the time has come to put an end to this UNJUST behavior.
“How Have I Sinned?”
  • His people turned against Him – doing things that are evil.
    • They follow in their own ways – make decisions leaning on their own understanding. This was based off what they think is right – or asking the wrong people for advice that leads to more trouble.
    • They worship idols in their hearts
    • Talk to and seek the dead
    • They eat swine’s flesh and abominable things in their vessels: they ate the spoiled food. This has to do with our eyes, ears, and mouth. The things we watch, listen to, or engage in; as well as speak about. Your eyes, ears, and mouth controls what enters your soul, heart, and mind. Your thoughts leads to your actions.
      • So because our actions stem from our thoughts it’s important that we practice consistently tending the soil of our minds. Sowing seeds of God’s word – this makes it possible to bear good fruit. Then what goes in will also come out. You put the right stuff in then that’s what comes out through your words and actions.
    • His people were also full of pride and self-righteousness. They believed they were better than and above others.

Because You’ve Turnt Away

Received Judgment

Receiving His righteous judgment is our own fault. It’s something we bring upon ourselves because of the way we treat and respond towards the Lord. There are so many people who are sleep spiritually. There are many crooked other people pretending to be for the Lord but aren’t.

  • The Lord will not sit back any longer offering His long-suffering and patient love to a rebellious people whose hearts won’t change. He’s repaying His people by bringing judgment as punishment for their sins. They did what was evil in His face and chose what He does not delight in.
  • The fate of wicked is hunger, thirst, shame, anguish, lament, cursing, and death.

Salvation for the Righteous

Received Blessings

The Lord says that there are still people who love and serve Him. A people who remain faithful, walking in His statutes and keeping His commandments. Living a life that honors and glorifies Him. He blesses these people. He will not forget them – but honor their righteousness.

  • The Lord spares those who have been faithful His wrath and instead of destruction they’ll inherit His blessings. He’ll give them a place to rest with peace and joy. These are the ones who sought Him. Those who cultivated a faithful, active, and sincere relationship with him.
  • The fate of God’s servants, the righteous, will eat, drink, rejoice, and shout for joy. Regardless of the hardships we face in life through following the Lord – it’ll be worth it in the end. His blessings are so rich you’ll forget all about the former troubles.

A Time to Pivot

Examine Your Heart

Judgement is not something you want to reap. NOW is the time to take a look in the mirror and examine your own life. Reflect on your own ways and habits. How have you been treating the Lord, His blessings, other people? How have you managed your attitude? Are you full of pride? If so I suggest fasting and humbling yourself. We can get so butt hurt and upset about what someone has done to us but have you even considered how the things you do are affecting the Lord. His name is El Roi for a reason. He sees everything we do, say, think, and feel. It’s all right in front of His face whether we realize it or not. He is right there present in every single detail of our lives ALL OF THE TIME.

He is constantly interceding and doing for us but we never even turn to acknowledge Him. To thank Him not only for the big things but the little things too. Or we only come to Him for prayer requests; for something He can give you or do for you. When is the last time you’ve thought of doing something for Him? Give back to Him for all He does for you. Next time you go into prayer thank Him for something. Ask Him what He wants or how He is doing; what may be on His heart. Just tell Him you love Him from time to time.

Return to the Lord

Seek to know Him and care for Him on a greater level. This is why He gave us the opportunity for a relationship with Him. Don’t be one of those people who make it one-sided. One person putting in all the work while you’re living your ‘false’ best life. We don’t think of the Lord this way because we’re too caught up in self. We are too distracted with other things. WAKE UP AND RETURN TO YOUR LORD. He is faithful and will forgive you. He waits and longs for you – just give Him a call.

The Lord is FULL of love, FULL of mercy, FULL of grace and compassion. He is THE MOST understanding and loving person I’ve come to know. He does far more for us than we think. None of us are perfect we’ve all wronged the Lord in some way or another. However, NOW is the time to turn your hearts back to Him in repentance.

Let go of whatever sin you were engaging in and turn back to the Lord seeking His forgiveness. Making a daily effort not to pick that sin back up. If you’re struggling with sin, because we all do, seek Him about it and let Him know and ask for His help. He loves supporting and helping us when we ask for it.

Choose Obedience
  • If you looked in the mirror and did not see anything wrong – immediately ask the Lord to reveal to you. Now is not the time to play or take lightly the situation. His judgment is here ready to swallow up anyone.
  • IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT WE OBEY WHAT THE LORD TELLS US. He is our all knowing and Sovereign Lord. His commands are not optional. Also, it is one way we show Him our love for him. Judgment often comes due to disobedience. Before it’s too late get back right with God. This is His warning to come. You’ll either be on the side of His wrath where He is against you. Or you’ll be on His side – covered, protected, loved, blessed, and kept. Inheriting His promise to be with you and for you. YOU CHOOSE!

The righteous judgement of God reveals both His justice and His mercy towards His people.
