The Day of the Lord – Urgent Message

The day of the Lord is near; it’s at hand! It’s a day of darkness and gloominess. A day of thick clouds like the morning clouds that spread over the mountains. The day of the Lord can be fulfilled throughout numbers of events not one single event.

Darkness here represents misery, distress, tragedy, and judgment.

This day is when the Lord will come down in a dramatic way to bring justice. He’ll bring His wrath and judgment on the wicked and salvation to the righteous. The Lord is asserting that He is in control. It’s a day where the wicked will tremble because no one can stand against God and win.

The righteous will look forward to this day, as for them it is a day where the Lord will bring justice, deliverance, restoration, salvation, and blessing for His people.

Wickedness that brings judgment is sin and disobedience. However, the Lord highlighted that the day of the Lord will come again. If you find yourself under judgement now – it’s time to repent so when He does come again you’re considered redeemed; experiencing His goodness and not destruction.

The Lord gives us a clear picture of this day in Joel chapter 2. Below you can read some verses the Lord highlighted to me.

Joel 2:1-3, 11-13 “Blow the trumpet in Zion and sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; for the day of the Lord is coming, for it is at hand: A day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds spread over the mountains. A people come great and strong. The like of whom has never been nor will there ever be any such after them, even for many successive generations. A fire devours before them, and behind them a flame burns; the land is like the Garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; surely nothing shall escape them. The Lord gives voice before His army, for His camp is very great; for strong is the One who executes His word. For the day of the Lord is great and very terrible; who can endure it? NOW, therefore, says the Lord, ‘Turn to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.’ So rend your heart, and not your garments; return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness; and He relents from doing harm.

What’s the Core Message?

This is a time of spiritual emergency where much prayer, fasting, weeping, and rendering hearts need to come forth. God wants a change of heart and sorrow over sin. He desires for you to turn back towards Him. He will send an army to destroy everything in their way. They will bring with them fear and death. Nothing will be able to withstand the wrath of God. Now is your opportunity of true repentance, remorse, and renewal. He wants more than just outward repentance but a heart’s cry. Then the Lord may withhold His wrath and display His grace if the people would truly repent. There is hope for the God’s people to be refreshed. Whoever calls on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ shall be saved. [READ FOR YOURSELF JOEL 2:18-32]

Do not delay repentance.

Rend your heart before it is too late.

The Lord says, “Return to Me for I am gracious and merciful.”

The Day of the Lord is dreadful for the unrepentant – but glorious for the surrendered.
